Pit Loader Operator

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated.

About the role

The Pit Loader Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a pit loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. This role promotes site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.

Hours: 6:30AM - 4:30PM, weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate a pit loader within company guidelines and safety standards
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspection of working areas and ensure they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
• Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles, and crushers
• Perform daily preventative maintenance (tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and all moving parts for proper function)
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site
• Operate other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment, and/or equipment used in processing plants
• Six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader (preferred)
