Piping Estimator

About the role

Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of full estimates on large and complex projects as required by client's documents and providing complete conceptual and total bid price.

Responsibilities

• Accurate bid quotations and thorough estimates
• Key relationships built with subcontractors and vendors
• Teambuilding within the department and other business units
• Estimated cost vs. actual cost

Skills & Requirements

• 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise
• Strong experience in process piping estimating; plumbing-only estimating experience is not sufficient.
• Experience with process piping projects, preferably in chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industrial environments.
• Experience estimating large-scale projects, ideally around the $10M range or higher.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, piping components, settings, and valves.
• Ability to review bid documents, scopes of work, blueprints, and construction documents and understand the piping scope.
• Experience with material pricing, subcontractor bids, labor/material take-offs, and overall project cost estimating.
• Familiarity with QuickPen or similar estimating software is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Candidates with strong process piping experience may be considered even if they do not meet every preferred qualification.

Work Arrangement: Office-based Monday-Thursday; Remote Friday
