Piping Drafting/Design 3 - West Monroe, LA

About the role

This position involves performing a variety of moderately difficult to difficult drafting assignments requiring the application of standard drafting techniques and engineering formulas.

Responsibilities

• Prepares complete sets of drawings involving multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings of equipment, facilities, or systems.
• Utilizes either manual or computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
• Reviews manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specifications.
• Determines material needs and makes necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references.
• Supports field assignments as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Normally requires a high school graduate with vo-tech training in basic drafting technology and typically three (3) years related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
• Typically requires a two-year degree in drafting/design technology and two (2) years related experience.
• Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing manual drafting techniques for a variety of non-routine assignments.
• Has a working knowledge of CADD for various standard applications.

Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before clients or employees of the organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts such of basic algebra and geometry.
