Piping Design Engineer, Level IV
Responsibilities
Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat3 facilities.
Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications.
The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc.
Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1.
Works with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output.
Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
Must be willing to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.
Qualifications
Requires an ABET accredited BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline plus 15 or more years of relevant professional experience or a MS degree in a relevant engineering discipline plus 14 or more years of relevant professional experience.
A Q clearance or ability to get one is required.

Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
