Piping and Mechanical Project Manager

About the role

Burrow Global is seeking an experienced Piping and Mechanical Project Manager for a 6+ month assignment at a chemical manufacturing facility on the east side of Pasadena, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience developing and managing mechanical infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, and capital projects in a chemical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will drive a portfolio of engineered and funded projects through the execution phase, managing cost, scope, and schedule for each approved project. This position will also oversee construction vendors and personnel working on various projects at the facility.

Responsibilities

• Review complete engineering packages (piping, mechanical, civil/structural, I&E) with scopes of work to ensure readiness for construction installation.
• Move engineering packages from IFA to IFC status, obtain construction bids, perform bid tabs, and clarify bids.
• Assure piping and mechanical capital projects meet objectives (cost, schedule, and scope) by managing execution in accordance with specifications and standards.
• Ensure accurate cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting for assigned projects.
• Review and develop scopes of work and construction packages, including documentation.
• Provide new/revised Process Safety Information to appropriate departments.
• Analyze and manage risks on projects.
• Facilitate safety and constructability reviews.
• Communicate and resolve technical and commercial issues related to project objectives.
• Initiate Management of Change and coordinate with the site PSM representative regarding PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) requirements; participate in PHAs as needed.
• Communicate project status to leadership effectively.
• Ensure all project documentation is completed.
• Exercise direct control of cost and execution for assigned projects.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in project management in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for any company in an ongoing capacity without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or institution.
• Self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
