Pipeline Maintenance Overview

The Pipeliner plays a crucial role in maintaining pipeline systems at PBF Energy's facilities. This position requires a strong understanding of DOT, EHS, and OSHA regulations, as well as the ability to perform various tasks such as pipeline repairs, inspections, and relief work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent safe work ethic and EHS record.
• Maintain local, state, federal, EHS, and company records applicable to position.
• Respond to call outs 24/7, 7 days a week.
• Assist with DOT required inspections.
• Utilize tools such as shovels, post hole diggers, probes, air compressors, winches, forklifts, etc.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of stations, valve sites, pipeline right of ways, and terminal facilities.
• Assist with PIGS installations and retrievals.
• Replace valves and gaskets inside station terminals, oil/gas facilities, and underground enclosed vaults.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed with minimal downtime to operations.
• Initiate emergency response procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to communicate effectively within job function.
• Intermediate level computer knowledge (Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook).
• Valid Ca. Driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
• Ability to successfully complete Haz-Mat training, DOT operator qualifications, and computer-based training modules.
• Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions including working outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Self-starter with a high regard for working safely as outlined in EHS policies.
• Capable of working in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of DOT, EHS, and OSHA regulations/standards.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Spill Prevention Controls and Countermeasure plan.

Benefits

The Pipeliner position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the West Coast Employee Union – United Steel Workers (WCEU-USW) Local and Torrance Logistics Company LLC. The pay rate for this position is $41.77 per hour based on the CBA.
