Pipeline Operator

Responsibilities

  • Independently conduct routine and moderately complex pipeline operations and maintenance tasks under general supervision.
  • Operate and monitor pipeline systems, including pressure and flow adjustments; perform minor maintenance on valves and appurtenances.
  • Maintain accurate GIS mapping and oversee pigging activities to support pipeline integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and DOT requirements, with support from central staff.
  • Monitor real-time surveillance of pipeline systems and document all operational activities.
  • Provide timely emergency information to supervisors and assist in incident response.
  • Perform corrective tasks, oversee vendor performance, and ensure timely completion and safety compliance.
  • Coincide with chemical techs and field teams to address operational issues and protect pipeline assets.
  • Aid in developing and implementing SOPs, prioritizing projects, and recommending maintenance optimizations.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems; take corrective action in emergency and non-emergency situations.

Skills

  • Location: Carlsbad, NM
  • Schedule: 8x6 schedule Tuesday - Tuesday, 10-hour days (6 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • Pay: $87.40/hr (1099), $50/day vehicle allowance
  • Additional Notes: Personal vehicle use only. Position is not eligible for fleet charges. - Candidate must provide own 4 gas monitor - Candidate must show successful completion of Rig Pass and Safe Land trainings.
