About the role

The Superintendent oversees the execution, supervision, and completion of industrial mechanical construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with industry regulations. This role coordinates with project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel to optimize labor, materials, and schedules for efficient project execution.

Responsibilities

Oversee all field construction activities to ensure alignment with project plans and schedules.
Manage site labor, ensuring the right personnel are assigned to appropriate tasks.
Develop and maintain construction schedules to ensure timely project completion.
Monitor work progress and enforce adherence to industry and company quality standards.
Ensure all workers follow OSHA and company safety regulations.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors to maintain project efficiency.
Ensure timely delivery and availability of necessary materials and equipment.
Identify and resolve field issues to avoid project delays.
Stay informed of local, state, and federal construction regulations to ensure compliance.
Maintain regular communication with project managers, engineers, and site personnel.
Maintain accurate records of daily construction activities, safety incidents, and work progress.
Assess workforce efficiency and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Must possess any licenses or certifications required by state or local regulations.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in industrial mechanical construction.
At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience on construction sites.
Strong knowledge of industrial construction methods, materials, and best practices.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
Proficiency in construction scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and navigate construction sites for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.

Work Environment:

Primarily field-based, working on active construction sites.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, high noise levels, and industrial work environments.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required on job sites.
