About the role

Join CoolSys and advance your career while working with top-tier clients in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. This position is responsible for the installation of refrigeration systems following customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install refrigeration systems, including piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, and electrical wiring as required to complete the project.
  • Install pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
  • Provide construction support by welding and slip-hosing copper pipes, and assist the foreman as needed.
  • Hand cooler box coils and install new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodel existing ones.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; trade or technical school classes preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with hands-on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical, and/or fixtures construction.
  • EPA Certification (Type II).
  • Experience in copper brazing and market remodeling.
  • Good driving record.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
  • Knowledge of carpentry, refrigeration systems, and piping of refrigeration equipment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to pipe refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and strong mechanical skills.
  • Knowledge of job site safety, ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices, and compliance with safety rules.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
