About the role

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of crew workers to build rotors, erect base and mid-sections, erect full turbines, and offload turbine components while meeting production schedule timelines.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications and read blueprints.
• Assist in laying out work for crew and preplan daily activities to ensure crew productivity meets job schedule.
• Monitor quality control of work in place by craft workers.
• Order and coordinate delivery of necessary materials.
• Comply with all documentation requirements and fill out project-related reports, such as Daily Reports, Safety Reports, ESRs, and Inspection Reports.
• Coordinate equipment needs, ensure operators are qualified, and maintain equipment with timely repairs.
• Support jobsite Superintendent to coordinate activities of individual projects.
• Perform related trade work as required.
• Travel to different jobsites on limited notice.
• Implement better methods of production to strengthen best practices.
• Monitor crew installation for quality issues and work areas to ensure quality work is completed.
• Identify ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
• Train and instruct crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasks.
• Audit safe work practices, ensuring PPE is available and used properly.
• Assist Human Resources and Superintendent by interviewing, hiring, training, appraising work performance, and addressing employee complaints in the field.
• Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of craft workers.
• Complete ESRs for all employees with a change in job status (transfer, laid off, terminated).
• Conduct regular performance reviews of crew members.
• Manage up to six or more employees and Lead men.
• Train and mentor new workers.

Requirements

• 4 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED Certification (preferred).
• 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.
• Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Set a personal example of safe behavior.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using units of weight, measurement, and volume.
• Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.
• Maintain in-depth relations with all team members and supervisors.

Skills

• Ability to work in varying temperatures and outside conditions for up to 12-hour shifts.
• Physical strength and stamina to push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb.
• Stamina to perform tasks repetitively and continuously for several hours.
• Ability to work in uncontrolled environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
• Ability to work in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas, including heights, while adhering to all safety and fall-protection requirements.
• Evaluate information based on measurable standards and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
• Good balance and ability to work at heights.
• Good vision (naturally or with correction).
• Good hearing (naturally or with correction).
• Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.

Schedule

• Full-Time position, typically 50 hours per week, subject to project requirements.
• Travel required up to 90%, with presence directly on the Project Site location and intermittent travel to residence of record.

Pay

$45.00 / hour, commensurate with experience.
