Pipefitter

About the role

Archer Western Construction is seeking a Pipefitter for the San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant in Shiprock, New Mexico. The Pipefitter will assemble, install, and replace pipe systems and related portions including metal, plastic, ceramic, and composition, and install plumbing fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and installs piping and tubing systems that conduct water, steam, air, and other fluids, solids, or gases in and around buildings and structures.
• Installs vacuum piping systems, drainage, and sewage lines (laterals) from buildings to the point of attachment.
• Handles and moves materials and equipment to be used by plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of verifiable experience preferred.
• Experience working with piping systems and fixtures; adequate knowledge of lengths and construction measurements for use of tools and machinery.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
