Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lay out, fit, assemble, and install a variety of piping systems according to blueprints, specifications, and job plans.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand tools, power tools, and machines such as saws, pipe cutters, threading machines, and pipe benders.
- Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including steel, copper, HDPE, and PVC.
- Connect pipes using various methods such as welding, threading, grooved fittings, soldering, brazing, and fusion.
- Secure pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, hangers, pipe stand, and anchors.
- Perform welding tasks using SMA (Stick), GMAW (MIG). Or GTAW (TIG) in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead), selecting appropriate methods and tools based on project requirements.
- Operate grinders and other tools to prepare materials for welding and ensure clean, accurate joints.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and best practices.
- Follow detailed installation plans and collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Conduct pre-task planning and job hazard analysis before beginning work to identify and mitigate risks.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to supervisors and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Complete any required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, external customers, and subcontractors to coordinate work, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles in compliance with safety regulations when transporting tools, materials, or traveling to job sites.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, twist, climb ladders, and maintain balance while working at heights.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders safely and frequently.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces, elevated areas, and outdoor conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated high mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts, Lull, scissor lifts, and other material handling or aerial lift equipment safely and in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Welding certificate is a plus but not required.
