Pipe Welder (Night Shift) - Level 4

Responsibilities

  • Complete welding assignments and procedures for the construction and repair of all site structural stands
  • Safely and professionally assemble test site structural forms
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations
  • Utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld metal components
  • Inspect own welds according to AWS and ASME standards
  • Improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
  • Work cooperatively and jointly in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 6+ years of experience with TIG or GTAW welding
  • 8+ years of experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, oxy-acetylene, fitting, and arc gouging
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, AWS/ASME codes, and engineering requirements
  • Experience with standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade
  • Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in relation to welding and brazing
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Exposure to extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain)
  • Exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends
  • Physical demands including standing up to 10 hours per day, sitting up to 10 hours per day, pushing/pulling up to 75lbs. (unassisted) for up to 2 hours, overhead reaching up to 10 hours per day, walking up to 10 hours per day, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs. (unassisted) for up to 2 hours, climbing up to 6 hours per day, kneeling/crouching up to 10 hours per day, upper body twisting up to 6 hours per day, working at heights up to 500ft, in confined spaces, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description
  • Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees for 6 hours or greater per day
  • Eligible to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm physical capabilities

Additional Requirements

  • U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee under ITAR regulations
  • Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
