Responsibilities
- Complete welding assignments and procedures for the construction and repair of all site structural stands
- Safely and professionally assemble test site structural forms
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations
- Utilize hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld metal components
- Inspect own welds according to AWS and ASME standards
- Improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
- Work cooperatively and jointly in a fast-paced environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 6+ years of experience with TIG or GTAW welding
- 8+ years of experience with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, oxy-acetylene, fitting, and arc gouging
- Knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, AWS/ASME codes, and engineering requirements
- Experience with standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade
- Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in relation to welding and brazing
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Ability to rapidly change roles and responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Exposure to extreme outdoor environments (heat, cold, rain)
- Exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends
- Physical demands including standing up to 10 hours per day, sitting up to 10 hours per day, pushing/pulling up to 75lbs. (unassisted) for up to 2 hours, overhead reaching up to 10 hours per day, walking up to 10 hours per day, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs. (unassisted) for up to 2 hours, climbing up to 6 hours per day, kneeling/crouching up to 10 hours per day, upper body twisting up to 6 hours per day, working at heights up to 500ft, in confined spaces, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description
- Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees for 6 hours or greater per day
- Eligible to complete a pre-employment questionnaire and/or physical to confirm physical capabilities
Additional Requirements
- U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee under ITAR regulations
- Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
