Responsibilities
- Weld pipe in accordance with customer needs and specifications
- Measure, cut, and bend various sizes of pipe and tubing to required angle/length using pipe cutters and benders
- Copper brazing and soldering
- Threading and assembling pipe
- Prepare, fabricate, fit, weld and install pipe to specifications
- Install valves, hangers, supports and flanges in piping systems according to plans and applicable specifications
- Repair leaks in all types of pipe systems
- Assemble, install and repair piping systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes
- Setup, adjust, and operate welding equipment
Requirements
- Able to position weld in field and in shop atmosphere
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial pipe welding
- Carbon steel stick 6G Carbon steel TIG 6G Stainless steel TIG 6G
- Absorb basic brazing, and soldering experience
- Aid in selecting pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, or hangers according to specifications
- Cut or bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, or mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand or power tools
- Assist with the installation of piping systems
- Has basic brazing, and soldering experience
- Aid in assisting with job layout
- Working knowledge of all types of piping systems
- Must have the ability to read and interpret a written scope of work
- Perform basic mathematical computations and use measuring tools
- Must be able to identify basic trade materials by size, shape and function and safely use power tools and hand tools

- MIG Equipment & tool experience: Aerial lift Operation – Boom & Scissor Lift Forklift Operation - Material Handling up to 8000# Telehandler Setup/adjust welding machines and equipment, independently
- Hot tap (Preferred)
- Chauffeur LIC/Med DOT Physical (Preferred)
- Trailer Loading and Securing of Material (Preferred)
- Rigging Requirements: Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials
- Utilize and understand the constraints of chains, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings
- Use & recognize rigging hardware including hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eye bolts, softeners and tag lines
- Identifies common load configurations & positioning Rigger 1 training – trains on above
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain
