SUMMARY
The Pipe Welder is responsible for performing pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe using Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. Types of metal materials with a variety of welding processes; the most basic of which are, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding” and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) also known as “wire welding.”
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 4 Yrs. of pipe welding experience
- Must have experience in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), also known as Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) also known as "stick welding"
- Ability to pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted)
- Ability to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G) and overhead (4G) positions
- Pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe
- GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrode used for weld fill portion and cap
- Must be able to test onsite and pass BG & HFT
- Must pass military standard X-Ray welding test on stainless steel and copper nickel in the 6G position (restricted).
- The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe GTAW (TIG) process used for root pass, 11018 electrodes used for weld fill portion and cap.
