We are a major electricity and gas delivery company with one of the largest electricity transmission and distribution systems in the Northeast.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a Pipe Handler to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

  • Perform manual labor, including hand excavation, backfilling, handling of pipe, fittings, and materials
  • Operate paving breaker and rock drills and assist in operating tapping and stoppering equipment, heating and joining equipment for plastic pipe, and other equipment so assigned
  • Successfully complete training of higher classification duties and obtain proper licenses

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude and ability, high degree of dependability, and capable of exercising good judgment
  • Must pass Company physical and qualifying tests
  • Must have Massachusetts Drivers License and be in good physical condition

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
