Duties and Responsibilities
- Covers daily activities of a 2-7-person crew.
- Uses heavy equipment for excavation, installation, and backfilling of drainage pipe.
- Schedules pipe installation to minimize interference with other project activities and public.
- Inspects the work site regularly for potential hazards or safety concerns.
- Maintains a safe work environment that adheres to the company’s safety program.
- Monitors and maintains equipment to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
- Audits employee time reporting.
Skills
- Capable of leading a crew and maintaining good work ethics and communication skills.
- Able to follow directions and communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and the Project Manager.
- Positive attitude focused on safety and production, aware of Bedding and Shoring procedures for Pipe.
- Concrete experience preferred (forming and pouring).
- Ability to work long hours in various weather conditions.
- Strength to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, and crouch.
- Experience with heavy equipment operations.
- Expertise in reading and understanding project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, and tools necessary for layout and completion of work.
- Ability to calculate slopes, percentages, grades, and evaluations.
- Valid Driver's License and clean MVR-CDL is a plus.
Experience
- 2+ Years as a Foreman or Crew Lead.
- 3+ Years of field experience operating heavy equipment, underground utilities, pipe laying, and grading.
- Extensive experience with reading and understanding project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License and clean MVR-CDL is a plus.
