Responsibilities

• Assist with all work related to HVAC, mechanical, and industrial projects.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the trade as needed, including a Vitaulic grooving machine, overhead hoists, and general pipe fitting tools.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly with the shop foreman and follow direction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Requirements

• Three years of field pipefitting experience, including soldering, brazing, threading pipe, grooving pipe, installing hangers, and working with carbon steel pipe (up to 24").
• Must have own hand tools required for the position.
• Ability to identify and install pipe grades and systems.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.

Physical Demands

• Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing.
• Constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to talk and hear.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Material handling includes lifting from floor level to overhead, with occasional lifting up to 115 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

• Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity levels, atmospheric conditions, electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and working in high-exposure places.
