About the Role
Perform job functions required and/or assigned in the fabrication of iron and steel structures in accordance with contract/job specifications, quality assurance requirements, fitting procedures, and established ISO/QC program standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions, written and/or verbal, with little or no supervision.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specification schedules.
- Perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, angles, etc.).
- Measure, cut, fit, and/or install iron and steel braces, beams, plate, pipe, etc., according to blueprints and job specifications.
- Follow fitting procedures and principles used in the fabrication of offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, etc.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner.
- Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience and ability to pass a written and practical pipe fitter test.
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Pass background check.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, and up to 75 lbs on occasion.
- Standing, walking, turning, twisting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching (forward and overhead), climbing, balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing are essential physical requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (desirable).
- Knowledge of and experience using cutting torches, measuring tapes, calculators, levels, man-lifts/high-reach equipment, welding machines, chipping hammers, pressure chippers, and power grinders.
- Ability to read and write.

Work Environment
- 80% to 90% of work activities are performed outdoors in varying conditions (hot, cold, humid, wet, dry, dust, mud).
- Exposure to fumes (paint, paint thinners, diesel, gas, etc.).
