PIN PRODUCTION SPECIALTY LEVEL II (Centerless Grinder Operator) - Weekend Shift

About the role

LISI AEROSPACE is seeking a Centerless Grinder Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for maximizing technical and skill knowledge efficiency through the operation and maintenance of various centerless grinders to manufacture fasteners and special products.

Responsibilities

• Acts as an additional liaison on the shop floor between supervisor and machinists.
• Assigns and schedules work to operators and machinists through coordination with lead personnel or supervisors.
• Represents the factory/departments manufacturing on cross-functional teams or in-house committees.
• Provides daily direction, training, and assessment for peers to support their development.
• Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge and experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, using shop and measuring tools, and operating centerless grinders.
• Performs statistical process control (SPC) checks according to specifications.
• Operates and maintains multiple centerless grinders according to detailed blueprints, specifications, work orders, and instructions.
• Ensures adherence to safety protocols and maintains correct dimensions of parts using measuring instruments.
• Identifies and addresses machine malfunctions, performs minor repairs, and ensures tooling life.
• Documents assessments and provides recommendations for further development.
• Reports discrepancies, safety violations, and improperly performed work to supervisors.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives and promotes a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 10+ years of equivalent combination of education and work experience in aerospace fastener manufacturing.
• Advanced knowledge of various grinder machinery and procedures.
• Advance technical knowledge with quality and SPC.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Strong mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of SPC and departmental applications (Shop Floor System).
