Machinist II - Weekend Shift

About the role

With minimum supervision, operates a variety of machines such as CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC mill turn, and setup machines with quick change tooling. Checks own work for conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Checks CNC machines to ensure proper raw material is loaded in bar feeds based on individual setup sheets.
• Checks and fills CNC machines to ensure coolant tanks are full and at correct viscosity levels using a refractometer.
• Modify speeds and feeds as necessary.
• Operate two or more machines at one time.
• Run cells with gear machines and other manual equipment.
• Setup machines with quick change tooling.
• Work from blueprints, plans, methods, and sequences of machining to produce quality parts to conform to specifications.
• Checks own work for conformance to specifications.
• Identify and stock raw materials.
• Bench drills small diameters and inspect work to ensure compliance.
• Operate tumbler, wash, deburr drill press, and other simple equipment.
• Actively participate in safety and continuous improvement processes needed to ensure production.
• Follow all ITT safety policies and procedures, participate in workplace inspections, safety training, and job safety analyses.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years CNC machine shop experience as a machinist operating CNC machines.
• High School diploma or GED or trade school certification.
• Ability to remain at the setup.
• Ability to lift 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Capable of working and maintaining tolerances within .0002” in a high-pressure, fast-paced, quality-oriented environment.
• General machine shop math: fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture of goods.
• Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.
• Lean knowledge or experience preferred.

Pay

Equal Pay Act Range: Min. $21.15 to Max. $31.44 per hour.
