Pilot Plant Technician - Injection Molding (St. Paul, MN)

About the role

The Pilot Plant Technician (Injection Molding) position offers an opportunity to join 3M’s Injection Molding team in the Manufacturing Technology organization. This team supports the development of products, processes, and technologies across the company, as well as solves challenging manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment to support experimental, prototype, and production runs.
• Work directly with engineers and product developers, and independently conduct molding trials.
• Locate defects or problems during the manufacturing process and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform quality testing and visual inspections.
• Interpret and provide feedback on quality results.
• Maintain proper documentation and produce necessary reports.
• Advance site EHS and continuous improvement culture through implementation of improvement ideas and adherence to policies.

Requirements

• A high school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution.
• At least three (3) combined years of experience working in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environment.
• At least one (1) combined year of experience with injection molding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to complete work independently.
• Willingness to be flexible with schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

This posting is designated as a day shift (6 AM to 2 PM) role, but may have opportunities for early start/late stop, or alternate shift coverage. Relocation: May be authorized.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $75,064 - $91,745, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.

Schedule

This posting is designated as a day shift (6 AM to 2 PM) role, but may have opportunities for early start/late stop, or alternate shift coverage.

Location

On-site at the Building 76 Pilot Plant in Saint Paul, MN.

Travel

May include up to 5% domestic.
