About the role

The Pilot Plant Technician (Injection Molding) role provides an opportunity to join 3M's Injection Molding team in the Manufacturing Technology organization. This team supports the development of products, processes, and technologies across the company, as well as solves challenging manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment to support experimental, prototype, and production runs.
  • Locate defects or problems during the manufacturing process and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform quality testing and visual inspections.
  • Interpret and provide feedback on quality results.
  • Maintain proper documentation and produce necessary reports.
  • Advance site EHS and continuous improvement culture through implementation of improvement ideas and adherence to policies.
  • Provide flexible support for 2nd shift operations (2PM – 10PM) based on production demand, to increase manufacturing capacity.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
  • One (1) combined year of experience working in a manufacturing, pilot plant, or laboratory environment in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Experience operating injection molding presses or other manufacturing lines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to complete work independently.
  • A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

Benefits

This role is designated for 2nd shift (2 PM to 10 PM), however initial training will occur on day shift, and schedule adjustments may be made when production demands do not require 2nd shift support. Relocation may be authorized.

Pay & Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position is $67,593 - $82,614, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
