Pilot Car Representative

About the role

As part of our Sentinel Pilot Car Services team, the Pilot Car Representative plays a key role in ensuring the safe movement of over-dimensional freight across the country. In this role, you will coordinate certified pilot car drivers to escort oversized loads.

Responsibilities

• Secure and schedule certified independent pilot car drivers to escort oversized loads, negotiating competitive and market-aligned rates.
• Communicate route details and logistics clearly to both truck drivers and pilot car drivers to ensure seamless, on-time execution.
• Verify pilot car invoices for accuracy and ensure timely payment processing.
• Address and resolve service failures, safety concerns, communication gaps, and payment questions.
• Provide limited after-hours support as needed via company-issued phone.

Requirements

• Higher education and/or 2+ years of work experience in customer service, transportation, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of sales, marketing, and customer service fundamentals.
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected events.
• Collaborative working style with a team-first mentality.
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities at once.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications

Compensation And Benefits
Total cash compensation range of this position is $50,000 to $65,000+ which includes a base salary range starting at $45,000 - $53,500+ plus position-specific incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
