About the role

The Captain, when on duty, is in full command of the aircraft and crew, and is jointly responsible with the Director of Operations for the pre-flight planning, delay, and release of flight. Reports to the Chief Pilot.

General duties

  • Operate at all times in accordance with Company approved/accepted manuals and, as applicable, the OpSpecs, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, ADs, ACs, Handbook Bulletins, Directives, and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Have full authority and responsibility for all Crewmembers and the safe and efficient conduct of the flight, commencing at the time the Crewmembers report for duty, continuing while enroute, at intermediate departure points, and until the Crewmembers have gone off duty to receive a rest period.
  • Submit reports on irregularities or incidents, as required.
  • Take an active role in promoting positive attitudes towards culture, core values, compliance, and safety.
  • Ensure pilot appearance, attendance, and personal conduct are in compliance with Company policy, culture, and core values.
  • Comply with all administrative programs including airport/route qualification, flight time limitations, currency requirements (physicals, takeoffs and landings, home study courses, etc.), pilot flight equipment, uniform discipline, manuals, policies and procedures, and others, as assigned.
  • Immediately notify the Chief Pilot of any discrepancy or incident that may affect their ability, or the Company’s ability, to perform within the parameters of safety, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Perform any additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
  • Act, as deemed necessary, to resolve any problems or situations that may compromise safety or compliance.
  • Direct the Flight Crew in a safe and efficient manner to meet the operational requirements of the Company.

Qualifications

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License
  • First Class Medical Certificate
  • FCC Certificate
  • Legal authorization to live and work in the U.S.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
  • No FAA accident history or history of regulatory violations
  • Pass a DOT pre-employment drug test
  • Fluent in English (read, write, speak, understand)
  • Strong communication, sharp judgment, attention to detail, and hospitality mindset
  • Boeing 777 or other Boeing aircraft experience preferred
  • 5,000 hours total time (fixed wing) with EFIS/FMS/Glass flight deck experience
  • 2,000 PIC hours in aircraft weighing over 154,000 lbs.
  • 1,000 hours in turbojet
  • 1,000 hours Part 121, 91, or 135
  • Supplemental Part 121 experience preferred
