Picker Packer

Description

The Picker/Packer will play a crucial role in the efficient distribution of warehouse deliveries and arrivals. Key responsibilities include:

• Handling pick tickets/orders from warehouse management/staff to pull items from warehouse inventory.
• Using RF guns and other electronic equipment, as necessary.
• Physically pulling warehouse items by the stated number, size, color, quantity, quality, etc. requirements.
• Comparing and inspecting physical items pulled to the requirements of the pick ticket/order.
• Packing/wrapping orders as required by item/delivery type and preparing for shipment.
• Ensuring orders are staged correctly for each delivery.
• Operating any material handling equipment following established safety guidelines.
• Maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
• Might assist in placing incoming items in inventory.
• May assist in conducting warehouse inventory counts as required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years’ experience coordinating shipments in a warehousing or distribution environment.
• Ability to perform tasks under pressure and within a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to handle detail-oriented work to ensure proper items and quantities are picked to arrive at customers in good condition.
• General fluency in English required, including verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Perform job duties in severe weather conditions: heat, cold, rain, etc.
• Walk for distances of 100 yards repeatedly and without assistance.
• Lift 50 pounds and without assistance or equipment.
• Utilize all material handling equipment without assistance.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility.
• Observe established safety guidelines in conducting physical work activity duties.
• Wear protective equipment as required.
