About the role

Pulls merchandise from stock to fulfill high-volume Business Center orders, loads items onto flat carts and/or pallets, and transports them using a manual pallet jack. Packs cooler and freezer items in coolers and operates pallet jacks to load delivery trucks.

Responsibilities

• Follow proper Picking department procedures for performance of duties and paperwork.
• Lift pallets from low stacks and set on the floor; move pallets with a manual pallet jack.
• Observe safety and security procedures, including checking manual pallet jacks and pallets for defects and tagging any issues.
• Use proper lifting techniques.
• Obtain pick tickets from the control desk and scan them with a wearable hand scanner to list the number and location of items to pull for an order.
• Operate a manual pallet jack to transport pallets through the warehouse and select items from floor stock to assemble orders.
• Verify each pull to ensure correct items and quantities are selected and that items are in good condition.
• Enlist forklift drivers to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large-quantity item orders and spot for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall danger zones.
• Enter the quantity or weight of each item pulled into the wearable hand scanner and note any approved substitutions or out-of-stock items.
• Operate a manual pallet jack to move approved completed orders onto trucks for delivery.
• Assist in other areas as necessary.
