Picker

Main Responsibilities

• Discard or remove products and materials to ensure adherence to established specifications.
• Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
• Create a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
• Perform general clean-up and yard maintenance, including digging, sweeping, weed maintenance, and blacktop repaving.
• Remove non-metallic material, metal, and debris from the shredder and non-ferrous picking belts.
• Grease and perform general cleanup at the shear and/or shredder.
• Assist with repairs and maintenance as required.
• Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.

Key Qualifications

• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
• Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
• Experience in a scrap yard preferred.
