Pick & Pack Associate

About the role

The Pick and Pack Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient and accurate fulfillment of daily product orders for Gentell, Inc. and its affiliated companies. This position is part of a team dedicated to improving patient outcomes and reducing nursing time in the long-term care industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble boxes and bundle products into packs based on daily orders.
  • Pull and pack products according to order sheets using computer software.
  • Verify quantities and item codes before shipment.
  • Generate shipping labels using software and ensure correct shipping information is included.
  • Seal and tag containers, confirming accuracy of orders and signing pick tickets.
  • Move completed orders to the shipping area.
  • Receive incoming freight and store materials in designated areas.
  • Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks and move materials throughout the facility.
  • Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to identify process improvements.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices and work safety protocols.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Absorb and replenish stock, take inventory, and report shortages as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in picking and packing.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of people.
  • Proficient with tools used in this position.
  • Physically agile and dexterous.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet specific customer orders accurately and promptly.
  • Experience with shipping software preferred.

Desired Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
  • 1 year or more experience in picking and packing.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people.
  • Proficient with using tools required for this position.
  • Physically agile and dexterous.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet specifics of customer orders in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Experience with shipping software preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for at least 8 hours a day.
  • Reach, bend, twist, squat, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Load and push boxes on a cart or dolly.
  • Read, listen, speak, type, and move throughout the facility.
  • Operate computer equipment and use a keyboard and mouse/mouse pad.
