Full-time

Arrange for the efficient and orderly admission of outpatient testing or procedures. Ensure that patient information is collected, entered accurately into the computer system, and that all patients are aware of Urgent Care policies and procedures. Interview incoming patients or representatives and enter required admission information into the computer. Distribute appropriate information to all ancillary departments. Maintain a 95% accuracy rate quarterly on all admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients for outpatient testing and procedures, obtaining or verifying personal information, including emergency numbers and insurance details.
  • Obtain signatures on MSE and Condition of Admission forms.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with supervisors, nurse managers, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Receive and post patient payments or co-payments accurately to the system.
  • Count and verify the till drawer at the beginning and end of every shift.
  • Maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
  • Understand and communicate Urgent Care policies and available services.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to function well in stressful situations.
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensure confidentiality of patient records.
  • Maintain positive working relationships within the department and with other departments.
  • Participate in educational programs, complete annual educational requirements, and attend in-service meetings.
  • Attend required meetings and maintain accurate time clock punches according to policy.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and adhere to the dress code.
  • Comply with all PCI standards and company policies for payment card acceptance and security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Current BLS Certification.
  • Experience: One to three months of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information systems and operate basic computer functions and software.
  • Language/Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Mental Capabilities: Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others as a team player.
