About the role
Sunnyside Piano Studio LLC is a community studio in Woodside, Queens seeking a piano instructor to teach students ages 5 and up. The position is one day a week (Friday) and pays hourly.
The instructor will prepare students for bi-annual recitals and any necessary auditions, with lessons typically lasting 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Music history and theory should be incorporated into lessons when applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance or Music Education with an emphasis in Piano
- Willingness to commit to a full 20-week semester
- Ability to perform intermediate-level piano pieces
- Strong sight-reading skills
- Patience and a kind rapport with young students
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
