Physics Adjunct Instructor

About the Role

Teach courses in Physics based on instructor's qualifications. Positions are part-time and teaching assignments vary each semester based on enrollment. There may be semesters with no available assignments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (e.g., syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Participate in required reporting processes (e.g., grades, participation).
• Assist students in connecting to college resources.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Physics or a Master’s degree or higher in another field with 18 graduate credits in Physics.

Applicants must already be eligible to work in the United States; Jackson College does not support visa applications. Final candidates will undergo a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Additional Information

Adjunct instructors are employed by EDUStaff, LLC, except for those receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System. If selected, you will be required to complete EDUStaff’s employment application and onboarding processes.

Unofficial transcripts may be used during the selection process, but official transcripts for all degrees held will be required if selected to teach.
