At a Glance

The study of physics has given us our technological world as well as uncovered secrets of our natural world. Physicists study the fundamental laws of nature and interactions of systems. Their work can involve the smallest subatomic particles or the largest galaxies. Physicists have an amazing number of challenging, exciting and productive career choices open to them. Their work can involve astronomy, computers, earth sciences, medicine, lasers, optics, aerospace, atomic physics, lasers and optics, electricity and magnetism, classical and quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and much more.

Program Highlights

• Choose from several MCC physics courses, including general physics, astronomy and engineering physics.
• The program is built around the Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree.
• Students come into the program with a variety of backgrounds and varying degrees of skill levels.
• Students will benefit from having taken previous technical courses, experience and/or have a passion or interest in the field.
• We have many students that are changing careers, coming out of military service, non-traditional students returning and students who are starting right out of high school.
• Small day and evening classes with dedicated industry experienced instructors for personal instruction.

Transfer Made Simple

Whatever your transfer destination, we'll work to make sure your credits move easily. That's why we're experts at it. We've worked out specific transfer agreements with many four-year colleges and universities. While MCC does not offer a degree in this field, these freshman- and sophomore-level courses move with you to a four year college or university. Depending on your chosen major, these courses may apply toward your degree or as electives.
