About the role
The Medical Physicist ensures the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation in collaboration with radiation oncologists and staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Develop and monitor clinical quality indicators.
- Perform quality assurance on treatment equipment.
- Support treatment planning for advanced therapies such as SRS, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
- Oversee equipment calibration and safety protocols.
- Manage radiation safety and regulatory documentation.
- Supervise staff and participate in departmental projects.
- Assist with treatment procedures.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Physics or a related field.
- Certification as a Specialist in Therapeutic Radiology Physics (ABR).
- Licensure as a Radiation Therapist in Illinois.
Skills
- Knowledge of radiation therapy physics.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Experience with equipment quality assurance.
- Effective communication.
