About the Role

Seeking a Certified Medical Physicist to provide expert support in radiation oncology, focusing on treatment planning, quality assurance, and radiation safety. Collaborate with clinical teams to design, optimize, and evaluate precise radiation treatments, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards. Lead calibration and quality control of radiation therapy equipment, oversee brachytherapy procedures, and support implementation of new technologies to improve patient outcomes. Participate in developing policies, training staff, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, and optimize radiation treatment plans.
  • Provide technical guidance for treatment procedures and safety protocols.
  • Oversee calibration, quality control, and equipment commissioning.
  • Support treatment planning, beam shaping, and new technology integration.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and collaborate on safety and policy development.
  • Perform staff training, serve as Radiation Safety Officer if needed, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Health or Medical Physics from an accredited institution.
  • Certification by ABR, ABMP, or equivalent.
  • State licensure as required, with experience in clinical radiation physics.
  • Expertise in radiation safety, treatment planning, quality improvement, and dosimetry.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of oncology information systems, programming, and imaging data transfer.

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to operate complex equipment with manual dexterity.
  • Frequent communication with patients and staff, requiring clear verbal interaction.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and transport equipment and patients safely.
  • Proficiency in computer use, data management, and troubleshooting technical systems.
