Responsibilities

  • Aids in coordinating Physics and Dosimetry staffing for Baptist Cancer Centers across the Metro market, considering disease-specific patient needs.
  • Affirms cross-training of all Physics/Dosimetry staff to enhance depth and redundancy in complex services such as IORT, TBI, CyberKnife®.
  • Participates in the development of protocols for patient care to ensure evidence-based care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Supports the Baptist GME program by assisting in the clinical education of Radiology residents related to Radiation Oncology.
  • Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as necessary.
  • Oversees quality control measures.
  • Collates and documents all aspects of physics services.
  • Engages in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment and supports the overall team effort of the department.
  • Completes assigned goals and fulfills other accountabilities as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department, with academic experience preferred.
  • Preferred/Desired experience with HDR, advanced IMRT applications, and stereotactic treatment delivery.
  • Minimum of a Master's level degree in Medical Physics.
  • Board Eligible in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
  • Advanced computer skills.

Qualifications

  • BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
