Responsibilities
- Aids in coordinating Physics and Dosimetry staffing for Baptist Cancer Centers across the Metro market, considering disease-specific patient needs.
- Affirms cross-training of all Physics/Dosimetry staff to enhance depth and redundancy in complex services such as IORT, TBI, CyberKnife®.
- Participates in the development of protocols for patient care to ensure evidence-based care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Supports the Baptist GME program by assisting in the clinical education of Radiology residents related to Radiation Oncology.
- Coordinates treatment planning processes and other procedures as necessary.
- Oversees quality control measures.
- Collates and documents all aspects of physics services.
- Engages in performance improvement and radiation safety activities.
- Contributes to a positive work environment and supports the overall team effort of the department.
- Completes assigned goals and fulfills other accountabilities as assigned or directed.
Requirements
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a progressive radiation oncology department, with academic experience preferred.
- Preferred/Desired experience with HDR, advanced IMRT applications, and stereotactic treatment delivery.
- Minimum of a Master's level degree in Medical Physics.
- Board Eligible in Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Advanced computer skills.
