Physicians and Advanced Practice Nurses for various Rowan-Virtua Medicine Practices

About the Role

Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, a rapidly growing Carnegie-classified national public research university with a stellar reputation for clinical care, research, and medical education, is expanding its faculty to support the growth of Rowan-Virtua Medicine. We are seeking full-time faculty in the specialties of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Physician Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Psychiatry.

The selected candidates will provide and manage direct patient care at Rowan-Virtua Medicine’s outpatient clinical offices in Southern New Jersey, while playing an active role in training and educating medical students, interns, residents, and fellows. Opportunities for faculty development and collaborative research across multiple disciplines are available.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, quality, and value-based patient care.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to care for patients, including those with complex intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities, and their families.
• Participate in collaborative research with faculty, residents, and students.
• For NMI physicians: Provide care to patients seeking pain management and outpatient substance use treatment.
• Teach medical students and residents clinical skills in an office setting while seeing patients.
• Teach medical students in their first two years through dedicated time allocated for various teaching opportunities, including:
  • Problem-based Learning facilitation.
  • Assisting students in learning history-taking, physical exams, procedures, and osteopathic manipulation skills in a lab setting.
• May require participation in pre- and post-doctoral training activities, education, staff development, and involvement in department, school, and university committees.

Requirements

• Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Med-Peds, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, Physician Medicine & Rehabilitation, or Psychiatry).
• Valid New Jersey medical license, CDS license, and DEA license (for most positions).
• Experience with diverse populations and a record of respect and openness toward individuals from varied social and cultural backgrounds.

Location

Our main clinical campus is located in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, approximately 8 miles from Philadelphia, 1 hour from the Atlantic Ocean, and 2 hours from New York City.
