Position Summary
You will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive care to adult populations. Specific responsibilities include:
- Attending to the medical needs of inmates, diagnosing and treating illness and injuries and arranging for professional consultation when warranted.
- Supervising, in conjunction with the Medical Director, the development and implementation of treatment protocols and inmate flow charts.
- Meting with the Medical Director and Administrative Staff to address and solve problems of mutual concerns.
- Collaborating with the General Health Service/Unit Staff in formulating medical policies, operational procedures and implementation of these policies at the unit level.
- Taking on-call as directed by the Medical Director and serving on committees.
Salary Information
The starting pay rate* is between $123.00 and $147.13 per hour (approximately $230,200 and $275,400 annually), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
- *Pay rate includes an add-on of $21.00 per hour for board certification. The add-on for board certification eligibility is $7.00 per hour.
- A 12-month probationary period is required.
- Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is in pay schedule and range 10/51.
Qualifications
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin.
- DEA Registration or eligibility to obtain DEA Registration.
- Board certification or eligibility for board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Experience performing basic physical examination techniques and applying general medical therapeutics.
- Experience diagnosing and treating acutely and chronically ill patients.
- Excellent communication skills.

Job Details
