Physician - Surgical Services - Full-Time

About the Role

This full-time position leads the surgical service line at a VA Healthcare System, overseeing clinical operations, physician and staff supervision, and departmental administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care in outpatient and surgical settings
• Lead the Interdisciplinary Care Coordination (ICC) leadership team
• Coordinate surgical resources and ensure staff competency
• Participate in hospital and system-wide committees
• Manage departmental budgets and financial performance
• Recruit, evaluate, and retain clinical and administrative staff
• Resolve operational issues and implement process improvements
• Engage in quality-improvement initiatives
• Support system-wide strategic initiatives
• Ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• MD or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school
• Unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
• Completion of an accredited residency in a recognized surgical specialty
• Proficiency in written and spoken English

Board certification in the relevant specialty is preferred.
