Physician - Surgical Oncologist - Grand Rapids, MI

About the role

This role encompasses a broad range of complex surgical oncology with a focus in cutaneous malignancies, minimally invasive esophagectomy, and management of peritoneal malignancies. The ideal candidate will also have a special interest in research, with the possibility of protected time. Additionally, training and mentoring of medical students and residents are expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgeries related to complex general surgery oncology, including cutaneous malignancies, minimally invasive esophagectomy, and management of peritoneal malignancies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical oncology, radiation oncology, interventional radiology, genetics, and multi-specialty teams.
• Participate in tumor boards, conferences, and work with resident physicians.
• Train and mentor medical students and residents.
• Contribute to research activities, possibly with protected time.

Requirements

• Board Eligible/Board Certified: Complex General Surgery Oncology.
• LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan, or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
• CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association, or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association, if required by specialty or stress test performed.
