Physician (Section Chief Psychiatrist) Mental Health Service
About the role
A Psychiatrist within the Mental Health Service who performs duties as a Section Chief.
Responsibilities
- Provide for quality and safety of the care provided by the Section in MH Service.
- Identify important aspects of care and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care using VHA performance measures.
- Maintain records of meetings and evaluations.
- Recommend clinical privileges and ensure ongoing professional practice evaluation.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the Section.
- Review and modify privilege templates as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Medical Degree from an LCME-accredited institution or an equivalent degree from an osteopathic medical school.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
- Completion of residency training in an approved program leading to board certification.
- Ability to perform duties under normal and emergent conditions.
