About the role

We are seeking a Physician Scientist to join our Cardiometabolic Therapeutic Area Genetics (TAG) team at the Regeneron Genetics Center (RGC). In this role, you will use massive-scale human exome sequencing to discover and validate new therapeutic targets in obesity and obesity-associated metabolic disease, accelerating therapeutic development through new human genetics and epidemiological insights. You will collaborate with RGC teams and Regeneron's pre-clinical and clinical development teams, contributing to a fast-growing, science-driven organization making a meaningful difference to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Generate key research questions, then design and execute studies and analyses to address them
  • Interpret study results and summarize insights across formats such as documents, presentations, patent applications, and publications for different audiences
  • Leverage RGC and Regeneron datasets, external resources, and the scientific/medical literature to address research questions, weighing quantitative and qualitative strength of evidence
  • Support target nomination and validation by applying RGC's human genetics capabilities alongside Regeneron's therapeutics platforms and development modalities
  • Partner with Clinical Development to evaluate clinical-stage programs and identify opportunities for human genetics studies that inform indication selection or safety evaluation
  • Participate in the intellectual life of the Cardiometabolic TAG, RGC, and Regeneron at large, helping build an inclusive culture where everyone can perform at their best
  • Represent the Therapeutic Area Genetics team in cross-functional initiatives across RGC and Regeneron

Requirements

  • An MD with a strong background in and knowledge of human genetics and genetic epidemiology; an MD/PhD with training in translational human genetics, genetic epidemiology, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Proficiency with R or similar software, and familiarity with high-performance computing environments
  • Experience integrating different data resources to translate initial genetic findings, and familiarity with meta-analysis of genome-wide summary statistics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an investigator in Randomized Controlled Trials
  • Experience in the clinical management or medical research of cardiometabolic disease

Pay

Salary Range (annually): $176,100.00 - $287,300.00
