About the Role
This position is responsible for coordinating outpatient and/or facility physician and advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) schedules and templates for medical group practices while troubleshooting physician scheduling issues on a daily basis. The role provides quality coordination of provider templates, patient scheduling, knowledge of services, visit preparations, accurate patient instructions, and customer service to patients and physicians.
Schedule
Split schedule: Monday and Friday at Peds Specialty, and Tuesday through Thursday at the Bridge Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the communication link between the engagement center, clinical staff, referring physicians, providers, and patients to ensure schedules are appropriately structured and utilized daily.
- Produce and maintain physician schedules based on daily needs and utilization.
- Facilitate vacations or scheduling changes on physician schedules.
- Assist with hospital transfers, arranging care with case managers, and providing financial resource information.
- Answer questions related to scheduled appointments and provide patient estimates for services.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is submitted for authorization of services.
- Train clinical staff and engagement center staff on department-specific templates and visits/procedures.
This position does not provide patient care.
Requirements
- Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
- 2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Minimum of two years of experience in scheduling and authorization of insurance.
- Minimum of two years in a specialty practice is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Healthcare.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Background in healthcare billing.

- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements, access online forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
