Physician - Rheumatology

About the role

The Department of Internal Medicine at JPS is seeking a Full-Time Rheumatologist to join their team. Services include Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology, and Rheumatology.

Responsibilities

• Administers and interprets all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Edits and educates patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Conducts physicals, orders tests, and serves as a patient's healthcare provider.

Essential Job Functions

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient care.
• Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and manage care.
• Makes appropriate patient referrals as needed.
• Maintains compliance with guidelines set by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
• Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to all patients.
• Maintains a collaborative environment with other physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff.
• Participates in academic, educational, and research activities.
• Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings.
• Builds a positive brand and customer experience for JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
• Serves as a resource to the community.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
• Residency and/or Fellowship training within the specialty of Rheumatology.
• Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Rheumatology.
