About the Role

The Physician Recruiter Specialist is responsible for sourcing, identifying, and screening potential physician candidates to fulfill the strategic recruitment plans of Corewell Health – while also ensuring all required steps in the recruitment process are completed satisfactorily. Collaborates closely with administrators and clinical and operational leaders to accomplish these responsibilities. Prefer candidates with physician recruitment experience. Must be available to provide onsite support for physician candidate visits at locations for Corewell Health in southeast Michigan.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as primary contact for all recruitment opportunities in service lines of scope, coordinating with respective administrators and clinical and operational leaders to ensure all steps of the recruitment process are completed appropriately
  • Provides metrics and regular updates on recruitment efforts to leadership
  • Serves as lead recruiter for physician leadership searches (i.e., Chair/Chiefs, Medical Directors, etc.)
  • Coordinates all candidate sourcing, including journal ad placements, job boards, targeted outreach and email campaigns, attending job fairs and society meetings as appropriate, and forwarding on qualified candidate information to appropriate parties for review
  • Serves as liaison and subject matter expert for placement firm engagement (as needed)
  • Establishes relationships with physicians and gathers all necessary information and documentation associated with due diligence for employment at Corewell Health
  • Completes all required applicant tracking steps and stages in Workday
  • Discusses benefits information, relocation guidelines, and other policies (as applicable) with physician candidates
  • Oversees coordination of interviews – including candidate travel and lodging – in partnership with clinical and operational leaders and attends candidate onsite visits
  • Assists with candidate expense reimbursements (as needed)
  • Coordinates and collects data for Fair Market Value (compensation) assessments (as needed)
  • Prepares Letter of Intent and assists in compensation negotiations with candidates (as applicable)
  • Completes hiring process in Workday and sends new hire announcements and all other appropriate communication
  • Coordinates with Physician Executives, Health System Chairs, Vice Presidents and respective Business Managers/Administrators to develop and implement comprehensive recruitment staffing plans, identifying strategic growth opportunities to ensure driven recruitment efforts are completed appropriately
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to think analytically and manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's Degree in health care related field. Experience working in collaborative environment, especially with physicians.

Preferred: Master's Degree
