Responsibilities
- Interpret full range of general diagnostic imaging modality exams to include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, plain film, fluoroscopy, mammography and nuclear scintigraphy.
- Evaluate imaging test results for the purposes of diagnosis, patient care, research and education.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team consisting of direct and indirect patient care professionals to include diagnostic imaging staff, x-ray technicians, laboratory staff, and referring clinical team and providers.
- Consult with the requesting clinical provider before a procedure is done, deciding on the procedure and ensuring the minimization of the invasion of the patient.
- Direct supporting employees during the performance of scheduled or emergency care procedures to include biopsies and abscess drainages.
- Assist with formulation of plans and procedures for assigned services; coordinate radiological services with other medical activities.
- Participate in independent, remote/off-site teleradiology call schedule overnights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Basic Requirement: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada accredited by recognized bodies.
- Licensure: Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- Residency Training for GP-14: Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Radiology) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years.
