About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join its growing Psychiatry & Behavioral Health team. The position offers full-time and part-time outpatient clinic opportunities, telepsychiatry and remote work options, and the chance to supervise and teach psychiatry residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and developmental conditions
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams including APPs, Psychiatry PharmD, clinical psychologists, social workers, counselors, and care coordinators
  • Develop and grow new behavioral health programs, including integrated care and specialty clinics
  • Practice within Ochsner’s state-of-the-art Neurosciences Center of Excellence, opening in 2026
  • Tailor practice interests across psychiatry subspecialty areas, including mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and comorbid medical conditions

Requirements

Must have or be willing to obtain Louisiana medical licensure. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Current license to practice medicine in Louisiana
  • Completion of an accredited ACGME/AACNP Board-approved residency program in Psychiatry
  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
