About the role

The Physician provides comprehensive primary care to students of California State University, Chico. The incumbent conducts physical examinations; manages acute and chronic illnesses; orders and interprets diagnostic tests; performs minor procedures; and counsels patients on preventive health, family planning, and mental health concerns. Physicians work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team to support the academic success and well-being of the student community.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Graduation from a medical school and completion of a residency training program in a primary care field such as family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology, general pediatrics, emergency medicine, preventive medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent.
  • A valid and current license to practice medicine in California.
  • Current ABMS or AOA board certification appropriate to the assigned duties.
  • DEA registration and certificate.
  • CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

This appointment does not include health benefits for Per Diem employees. CSU, Chico offers a number of benefits to its employees (e.g., sick leave, vacation, health insurance).
