Statement of Purpose
Metro Healthy Communities is a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHC-LAL) offering comprehensive healthcare services including HIV and primary care, specialized services like PrEP, nPEP, and STI testing, and treatment.
Primary Tasks/Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat medical conditions across all age groups within the scope of a primary care physician.
- Perform minor in-office procedural skills such as skin biopsies and suturing of minor lacerations.
- Possess or be willing to learn the skills to diagnose and treat HIV and Hepatitis C infections in adults.
- Experience with pediatric patients (ages 2+) is preferred.
- Refer patients to specialists as needed and coordinate their care.
- Review and manage lab results, medication refills, and other patient tasks daily.
- Participate in after-hours coverage and cover for other providers during vacations, conferences, and illness.
- Maintain accurate medical records in the electronic health record system.
- Keep up-to-date with medical licensure and board certification requirements.
- This role involves only outpatient care without inpatient responsibilities or obstetrics.
Education/Professional
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Valid Florida medical license and DEA registration
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail, and interpersonal abilities.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in medical databases and electronic medical record systems.
- Effective teamwork and professional demeanor with diverse backgrounds.
