About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Physician Practice Team Lead to support the Primary Care Team in Leesburg. This position involves rotating between our two locations: Leesburg Primary Care (51 Catoctin Cir NE, Leesburg, VA 20176) and Purcellville Primary Care (711 E Main St, Purcellville, VA 20132).
Responsibilities
- Lead practice staff in a professional and competent manner, motivating and mentoring to promote efficiency, enhance morale, retain competent staff, and provide a positive working environment.
- Screen and conduct initial staff interviews per management guidelines.
- Provide effective communication linkages through telecommunications and/or internet-based technologies to ensure patient access, service, and operational coordination.
- Complete assignments and projects within deadlines with minimal supervision, displaying attention to detail and organized approach.
- Partner with related departments (e.g., Physician Billing, Patient Financial Services, Medical Records) to identify opportunities for financial improvement.
- Optimize operations by assessing and managing practice infrastructure per Imaging (IMG) and practice guidelines in collaboration with IMG leadership.
- Provide new team members with process orientation and software training.
- Track and monitor team member time/attendance and approve timesheets.
- Monitor patient volumes, patient access, and level of patient services to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate and support regulatory compliance, including credentialing of professional/licensed staff, Medicare regulations, and all payor regulations.
- Ensure compliance with government and contract regulations, completing all necessary compliance training annually.
- Enforce safeguards against fraud and abuse, maintaining records of credentials for professional/licensed staff.
- Oversee and monitor front-end Revenue Cycle functions (e.g., insurance verification, registration, co-pay collection, charge entry) to ensure compliance with sound accounting practices.
- Participate in strategic planning, cost reduction, and revenue enhancement activities.
- Organize clinic operations to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, minimizing patient wait times while monitoring physician productivity.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills related to practice processes and workflow.
- Ensure offices are appropriately staffed by working with leadership on recruitment, hiring, orientation, discipline, and evaluation of all office staff.
- Oversee and assist team members in assigned functional areas, ensuring key deliverables and quality standards are met, and escalate issues to senior leaders as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Health Care Administration or an additional two years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Three years of experience in a physician practice setting.
- Must thrive in a teamwork and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in primary care.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
